Cosmic Updates

Self knowledge

I present to you, the case for having fun with your own existence.
What if I told you that you could have the benefits of religious experience without the dogma?

To know oneself is to know the universe or as some would like to call it, God.  I have my own personal beliefs and I do not like to push those on others, so I should say, if you identify as a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Athiest, etc... it really makes no difference here at Ecstatic Astrology.
Astrology is so helpful for navigating this reality and its likely good for our brains as well!  Click the link I am sharing here to read for yourself about what science has ascertained about religion.  You can have any religious belief or non belief that you choose and still benefit and practice astrology.  We all benefit from a long journey inside ourselves.
Astrology is also not anti-science.  Science, in fact, has nothing to do with astrology.  Here is a definition of Astrology that will hopefully squash just about any negative thing one could say about it::

Astrology applies archetypal stories to time and cosmic patterns in order to cope with, and understand the world around us.

There is no belief that a planet will do anything to your life. But Astrologers believe they have an idea about what areas of life will be affected in what way by looking at the patterns of planets.  This is not a shocking way of doing things, in fact, paying attention to what was going on when a planet was in a specific place in the sky and when that was happening on a regular basis is one of the first ways we learned to interact with our world.

But do you know what for sure does affect your life? The personal narrative running inside of your own head, to yourself, about yourself. We all need to break out of negative ways of thinking about ourselves and find the way through rough situations and we all need to overcome negative patterns in our lives and personally evolve.

As humans, we have always understood our world through story!  If, then, there is a piece of the puzzle that has always been missing for you, its not only a healthy, but fun exercise to look at your own astrology birth chart. The trick is, if its not right for you, then its not right for you!  It is a wonderful thing if someone resonates with an astrology reading or an astrology report, I have witnessed the validation washing over people.  I have not once had a client that didn't like it.  The reason why is simple, because I listen to what you have to say, I want to talk about your life and your dreams and desires and goals.  And then I want to give you helpful ideas or new ways of looking at the situations in your life.
Everyday we recite bits and pieces of the story we have written about ourselves in our heads, and this is exactly why we should be editing and re-working it as often as we can.

Leo full moon lunar eclipse 1/31 2018

I love my #sunandmoontarot cards on any day, but they seemed especially appropriate to draw for tomorrow’s #lunareclipse … of course this card seems almost like I must have fished for it but I swear I shuffled a dozen times while meditating and this was what came up. Read the description:

“Linked with The Sun. Associated with cooperations, group work, and partnership.  Here, everything becomes clear and direct.  Positive energy, good fortune, and contentment are coming.  The fire of the Sun motivates us and stimulates our creativity.  The Sun holds vitality, energy, strength, and the male principle.Sunflowers are symbols of devotion. The winged couple has been united and transformed. The lotus manifests cooperation, creative talent, and projects, giving ideas their material form. The Sun illuminates the mandala of Surya, the Hindu Sun God.  The Hebrew character Resh is the symbol of the head, and represents new ideas”

It is perfect for the Leo / Aquarius axis. I have been thinking a whole lot about this specific Full Moon Lunar Eclipse.  It feels like a big deal, probably because it is the most FEELING Moon to happen in quite some time.  This eclipse will be spurring on the conscious evolution by bringing personal creative fire to the collective.   Mother Moon will be cast in shadow from the Suns light but for a moment in the morning and that moment is birth. It is death. It is the closing of a door and the opening of another. This is a call to be who you truly are in every facet of your life.  What no longer serves you will be cut out of your life (Jupiter in Scorpio), either by universal force (Uranus in Aries) or personal will (Mars in Sag).  So get ready for a major aha moment! And then get ready to actually make decisions and plans in our physical reality (Saturn in Capricorn) Standing next to the Moon is the goddess dwarf planet Ceres, and she was the Roman goddess of agriculture, grain crops, fertility and motherly relationships, much like the Moon by whom she stands. The sign of Leo is related to the heart center. Self focused but in a childlike way or in the way of the Lion that rules his Pride. This is where the feminine is residing as FIERCE & STRONG at the moment.  We can see it everywhere! But opposite of this, is of course, The Sun (which rules Leo) in Aquarius. And along either side of the Sun is Venus and another Moon Goddess and sister to #Apollo the #SunGod is the Goddess #Artemis #asteroid105.  She rules many of the same things as Ceres (Childbirth, Children) but also rules animals and the natural world in general, chastity/virginity, and is a steadfast defender of the feminine principle.  With Artemis, the Sun, and Venus in Aquarius which rules the future, community, the internet, large organizations, the hive mind, and aliens, we can see that not even the sun being opposite the moon can escape the deep waters of the Feminine Creative principle.  Now despite what a majority of people might think, Aquarius is an air sign but is known as the water bearer. Think in terms of air delivering water as clouds and rain and snow.  So with such emphasis put on the feminine during this celestial event, it is extremely appropriate for the Sun, which is typically seen to be a masculine luminary, to be in the best place to bear all of this emotion that we are all experiencing.

So now, to take all of the astrology mumbo jumbo out of the picture and synthesize it down into a few short phrases.  I have mentioned the word Feminine too many times to count in this astro-report, but let us explore what that means.  The feminine is emotion. It is empathy.  It is the creative force that brings life into the world.  The feminine is soft and yet strong just like its element, water.  The yang can be colored but the yin absorbs all of the light.  Every human regardless of gender identity possess both masculine and feminine energies.  The act of painting is feminine, the act of putting that out into the world is masculine.  The energies at play here beg us to unite these in ourselves.  Too long have we assigned the job of the feminine to the Woman and the job of the Masculine to the man.  These are too big of burdens to bear as one human.  We should be able to cry and to stand firm.  This has nothing to do with your boys wearing dresses and your girls becoming president, yet, it has everything to do with looking at one another and deciding what is useful in this society.  To be able to develop the creative force inside us and subsequently nurture that creative seed until we are ready to bring that in its best form to the community at large and say, “how can I help, what can I offer?” Is the greatest manifestation of this lunar eclipse.  Saturn at home in Capricorn demands that we begin to bring these ideas into structured reality.  If Aquarius is the future and Leo is our hearts, how can we bring our hearts into the future? Be the light.  Hold on to the things that make you happy and that is where you put the foundation for the next generation.

The New Moon in Capricorn - Tuesday Jan 17/ 2018 8:17 pm
Intent is the seed of the souls desires.
Discipline is a beautiful gift of the Capricorn archetype to all of us mortals that wonder whether or not this is a simulated game and if any of it matters. If life WERE a simulated game, Capricorn might be considered the Operating System.  Its is the boundary.  How we as humans do things in order to carry out a specific task.  This is the lesson and the potential of the New Moon tonight.  Saturn and Capricorn embodies the clock.  The clock is a very important part life. Time rules our lives, and brings us gifts such as being aware of when a New Moon might be.  So, Saturn and Capricorn can be beautifully expressed, if you will, by the act of tracking the stars and calling it a pattern.   The Moon and the Sun come together tonight in this rather stoic sign.  Oh but they are not the only cosmic objects that have convened in Structured Capricorn. We have a seemingly unprecedented (at least in my lifetime) conjunction, which is when two or more planets/objects come very close together in the zodiac, in Capricorn. Venus, which represents our values, and Pluto, which represents Karmic Transformation are there with the Sun and Moon and not too far away we have Saturn and Mercury conjunct in earlier degrees Capricorn.
This build up of energy asks, what rules do we have for ourselves and how do our values change when our own rules change?  Alternatively, how are the rules forced to change when we decide to change our values?  The answer is, both are dependent on one another.   We all have a mountain to climb and we all possess free will.   Sometimes we make it to the top of our chosen mountain, and sometimes we don’t and instead choose a safe descent and a different mountain.  It is time to decide what your goals are.  Which finish lines are worth pushing towards and do we need to run this particular race at all?   Another factor in this New Moon is that it will be square to Uranus in Aries  which pulls us towards personal revolution, and will also be Sextile to Jupiter, the expansive planet, and Mars, how the ego takes action in Scorpio, which is calling on us to take action on transforming ourselves by ending the things that need to go away and beginning a new birth.  Deep relationship is also affected in this sign and with the Venus/Pluto/New Moon rendezvous, all of us will likely experience some change or transformation with our relationships, whether it be romantic, friendship, and/or business.

One of the more interesting pieces of this Astrological puzzle is the Saturn/Mercury conjunction in Capricorn.  Saturn naturally rules the sign of Capricorn and when a planet that rules a sign returns to that sign again we naturally would call it a home-coming.  So the homecoming here is one that will bring about a strong and possibly unwavering focus on the very things that Capricorn and Saturn embody - structure, time, personal rules. Mercury here assures that our mind will be looking towards what we are doing to further our own relationship with this earthly body, and how we take care of ourselves and our loved ones.

It is important in the next day or so to center yourself and ask the observer inside your mind where your own personal authority lies and where it needs a revamp.  Where could you tighten up and where could you loosen up.  What needs work? What do you value? how do you interact with what you value?  Can those values change to better fit your life? Or does your everyday life need to change to fit your own personal values?

If you are familiar with your own personal astrological chart please consult it and find where Saturn in Capricorn falls for yourself.  This area will be highlighted over the next few years.
