On the morning of November 21st the light-bearer Venus moves into the dark and intense sign of Scorpio. The quality of this transit is sure to be quite different from Venus’ foray in Libra over the last month. Venus is the transmitter of love, values, and relationship and it likes to be in a place that is balanced, fair, and soft - but that is not the nature of the land of Scorpio which is ruled by the passionate and at times, controlling, Mars. So on one hand, we can expect for our relationships to go deeper and perhaps even be enlivened by deeply passionate feelings but on the other hand things could tip towards jealousy and power plays here. The way we share resources (including our own bodies) is put at center stage in our lives.
The moment the light-bearer moves into Scorpio it will be peering across to see that someone else is occupying it’s own home - the revolutionary Uranus in Taurus. Imagine watching from afar as someone walks in and tears down walls in your home. Would you want to rebuild it in the same way or would you be questioning if you even want to return to that place that was once so comfortable? These are the questions of Venus opposite Uranus - and it is sure to shake up the typically fixed foundations that Venus has always relied on forcing it to re-evaluate where it even wants to go from here. This opposition is exact on Nov 27th, however we will be under the influence of this shaky transit from the 24th through 30th which is characterized by an upheaval concerning the very bedrock that we base our values on. This can create a new and unexpected awareness of fundamental changes to our reality which force us back into ourselves to determine what we truly want in our lives. This may sound scary but the best part of this transit is the ability to harness the power of change!
To continue with the home metaphor - you could have the realization that you didn’t like where the walls in the home were placed anyway and you are just now realizing you didn’t even like living in that part of town! So stay open and invite in the shift because ultimately it will support the new future that we are all entering into! The key is to take a good hard look at what we consider true desires and worthy causes. I think risk assessment factors into this transit pretty heavily with Mars being in Aries. Think in terms of your future self.
In addition to Venus changing signs the Sun also moves from Scorpio into Sagittarius which brings up equally deep and probing questions like what do we believe and what do we consider our truth? There is a sense of adventure and optimism with the Sun in this sign but as we begin to build in the constructs of a new reality we must let go of the old. Life is different and so is the matrix that we are operating in. The week ends with the build up to a full moon penumbral eclipse in Gemini and it is a perfect time to clear out the old information so that we can invite in new ideas! Keep in mind this week that we will be shedding outdated ways of being - in terms of ideas, beliefs, values, and the way we relate to others.
It should be noted that on Thanksgiving the Moon joins Mars in fiery Aries. Arguments and triggers may be a situation that we encounter but at the same time the wounded healer Chiron trines the Sun in Sagittarius - if we try to keep an open mind while also standing in our own authentic truth, great healing can be achieved.
