Ecstatic Astro Weekly
WELCOME TO ECLIPSE WEEK! There is a Lunar Eclipse Friday, November 19th. This week will only build towards it. Overall, the next few months will be a wrapping up of not only one, but two years of very heavy hitting astrological weather. Its like a winding down, a polishing. I feel that more than ever. I will attempt to sprinkle my reasoning into the weekly newsletter.
Eclipse focus by rising sign (or sun sign) is at the bottom if you want to skip the daily.
Monday November 15th
Today is a big day full of surprises. The Sun in Scorpio is square to Jupiter in Aquarius. This, accompanied by the building Mars opposition to Uranus, will make it impossible to hide what we truly want, but the more important question is, what would we do if we GOT what we wanted? Monday night features the Moon in Aries applying to a Square with Powerful Pluto. Do we have what it takes to stand in our own authority? Tuesday will tell.
Tuesday November 16th
Tempers and tensions begin to mount today. The Moon is in Aries when we meet the day, and it is in an opportunistic sextile with Jupiter. Feelings are fiery, and the Aquarian air fans the flames of belief. At the same time the Moon squares powerful Pluto. We are, in a sense, coming into a time of wrapping up a storyline in our lives. There have been struggles regarding autonomy and authority and profound transformation wherever Capricorn is placed in your chart. Pluto is finishing up it's transit of this sign of the next two years, and it feels as if we are at the precipice of our own power. At the same time, the Sun in Scorpio sextiles Pluto. This transit illuminates the fact that what we run from the most is actually our true desires. Mars in Scorpio, our willpower and desire, is gradually closing in on its opposition to Uranus in Taurus, an upheaval in values. The two must come to an agreement, but first, tensions must be released. Explosive and shocking events are a theme of these transits - and tonight it may begin to show itself. I always suggest being extra vigilant with your body, anger, and impulsivity during this time. This could also be reflective of world events. Tempers and tensions are flaring everywhere in the world. If you have been looking for a time to speak up for yourself, it may be impossible to avoid during this transit. The Moon moves into Taurus but bedtime, and we can feel into the area demanding a shift in our life.
Wednesday, November 17th
This is a complicated day, to say the least. We awake with the Moon in Taurus applying to a conjunction with Uranus, and both will be in a trine to Venus in Capricorn (see photo of chart) and in opposition to Mars. This aspect is drawing focus to the light-bearers impending retrograde and also the Mars opposition to Uranus.
Let's tackle the Mars opposition to the Moon and Uranus first, which is exact around mid-day. If you have been looking for an opportunity to change something about your story, this is a gem of an opportunity. However, I would be remiss if I did not point out that this can bring unexpected events. The Moon's involvement can add emotional expression or awareness to this energetic release of tension. If you are feeling unhinged today, this would be the astrological weather that reflects why. As I said earlier, we could see tensions rise across the world. Uranus in Taurus invites us to shift our value system, what we love, what we find comfortable, how we engage with mother earth, and even our money and assets. We may be surprised by our own desires today.
Now let's talk about Venus which, incidentally, rules Taurus. It is in Capricorn, and today it meets the degree that marks the beginning of its shadow period, meaning it will retrace these degrees eventually. Venus' coming retrograde will synthesize the themes and events encompassed in the Capricorn area of our charts. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008, Saturn joined in 2017, and Jupiter's ingress in 2019 heralded the metaphorical remodeling of our entire foundation with the conjunction of these three heavy-hitting planetary archetypes in early 2020. This Venus transit brings to light the significance of its stay in the sign of success, authority, mastery, and rules until March of next year. My impression is that we will be synthesizing, reviewing, and assessing the lessons we've learned and how our values have evolved. Beginning now and until March, expect to be enlightened on what closing this chapter means and how we want to move forward. Ultimately today will feel appropriately complex, filled with epiphanies and even unexpected turns of events. Pay specific attention to the evening when the Moon exactly trines Venus, and then meets Uranus to oppose Mars. Mercury trines Neptune overnight making for an active dream world and intuitive messages while we sleep.
Thursday November 18th
The Eclipse portal is open as the dawn breaks. It will not be exact until the wee hours of Friday early morning, but it is closing in on this event even as we awake. The Moon in Taurus has a few things to take care of first. It opposes Mercury in Scorpio first thing, which activates a link between our mind and our gut. We may feel like we understand something that we didn't before. Be aware that with Mars and Uranus close by and in opposition, we may be prone to verbal outbursts. Secrets also have a tendency to be revealed during transits like this. Simultaneously the Moon in Taurus is sextile to, and Mercury is trining Neptune; to put it simply, today will probably feel very strange. Neptune can create confusion or inspiration. It is a time that is very mystical, and fated events or people might enter our story. In the evening, Venus makes its exact and liberating trine with Uranus, and The Moon also in Taurus squares Jupiter in Aquarius and trines Pluto in Capricorn simultaneously. See, I told you Luna had a lot of business to take care of! Accordingly, this evening will focus on what we believe to be our truth and what we need to change to feel personally empowered.
Now can I talk about the eclipse? It has been a dense week of transits that all build-up to this notable eclipse which spans a large portion of the chart. The Full Moon is at 27º of Taurus, but the North Node, the eclipse point, is at 1º of Gemini. So not only do we need to look at where these two signs are in our charts, but also their opposing signs as the Sun is in Scorpio and the South Node is in Sagittarius. The ultimate theme of the Gem/Sag eclipses has been allowing ourselves to learn, change our minds, explore new beliefs, release limiting narratives, and make way to write a new story. But with the Moon and Sun being out of sign, it gives us a preview of next year's eclipse themes in Taurus/Scorpio. As a result, this eclipse will also likely show us how we are developing new values, a greater sense of self-worth, and a redrawing of boundaries regarding how we share ourselves and our assets with others. One vital connection by the Moon is its loose square to Jupiter and trine to Pluto. This will emphasize how our beliefs have shifted over the last year and any power imbalances in our lives. Again we ask, what has authority over us, and do we believe we want that in our lives anymore? The eclipse is exact at 2:57 am CST (8:57 am UT), as most of us sleep. I wonder what truths we might be shown in the dream world.
Friday November 19th
The Moon moves into Gemini rather quickly but is still oriented towards the eclipse energy as it meets the North Node early in the day. With things turning Mercurial, we may have multiple aha moments throughout this Friday. The Moon is also applying to a trine with Saturn all day, indicating the willingness to establish a future-oriented framework.
Saturday, November 20th
The Moon is still in Gemini today and will be inconjunct (or quincunx) to both Mars in Scorpio and Venus in Capricorn (making a sextile to one another). This is a crucial aspect known as a YOD or "the Finger of God". This suggests that if we want to write a new story, we must be clear on our values and desires. This theme is also represented by Mercury in Scorpio, sextile Pluto in Capricorn, and square Jupiter in Aquarius. We are definitely trying to figure something out intellectually. Be open-minded, write, talk with trusted friends or a counselor. Sometimes we already know the answer but don't realize it until we hear ourselves say it aloud. The Moon squares Neptune overnight, signifying yet another dream-filled sleep.
Sunday November 21st
The mental energy persists into Sunday as we wake up with the Moon in Gemini trining Jupiter in Aquarius and Mercury holding steady to its connections with Jupiter and Pluto. Ultimately with the Moon going void-of- course (not making any other aspects until it moves into the next sign) after 9:30 am, it will be a day of zoning out. We must take time to meditate, rest, and synthesize. This day also marks the last degree of the Sun in Scorpio as it moves into Sagittarius at dinner time, and the Moon moves into Cancer as we go to sleep - nurture your nerves with a bath or some other calming and soul-nourishing ritual.
Monday November 22nd
Today is the first full day of the Sagittarius season, a time when we celebrate life and espouse our beliefs to those we gather with. Let us keep in mind that we are in between eclipses, and anything that happens during this time can be meaningful to our story. The Moon is in Cancer today but will give us a bit of a rest and time to feel. It won't make any aspects until bedtime when it sextiles Uranus in Taurus, allowing us to feel emotional liberation and revolution.
